本书系第二册，词汇量为300个左右，适合初中二年级学生使用。本册课本与第一册在编排上大同小异，除极少数几课出现叙述体之外，仍保留了第一册以对话体为主的特点。本册课文后配有儿歌，歌词浅显，朗朗上口，对帮助巩固课堂教学内容，活跃课堂气氛起了一定的作用。
为了满足教学上的需要，课文中我们增加了在学生用书里没有出现的，但在教师用书里出现的单词，并作了注释。
本套教材配有录音带，由上海外语音像出版社出版。
